Abilene Jan. Reporter- 8, 1993 News Record 7D For the Obituaries Silas E. Clark Silas E. Clark, 94, who served as a Taylor County Justice of the Peace for 20 years, died Wednesday in Lamesa. Services will be at 2 p.m.

Saturday at Southwest Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike, Woodard officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Highway 277 South. Mr.

Clark served as JP for Precinct 1, Place 1, from 1960-80 when he retired. his Born in Crowley, he moved at age 12 to Taylor County with parents and attended school at Neill and Buffalo Gap. A farmer, he owned S.E. Clark Implement Company, a case implement dealer for 20 years. Clark was later office and credit manager for Parks of Abilene, for five years.

A former member of Southwest Park Baptist Church, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Lamesa and served as a deacon since 1923. He was past president and president emeritus of the Taylor County Singing Convention and as secretary-treasurer of the Texas State Singers Association for Clark 27 years. Also, he was a member of the Stamps Quartet from March 1931 until November 1934 and served for oriveinal years as a board member of the Wylie school district. Clark was preceded in death by his first wife, Ola May Oliver, and Ruth Herrington, his second wife. Survivors include a daughter, Leola Marie (Mrs.

Dorman Kinard of Lamesa; three grandchildren, Carol (Mrs. Rex) on Drennan of Lamesa, Terry Kinard of Hamlin and Kathy (Mrs. Jude) Vick of Grapevine; and seven great-grandchildren. Minnie Ola Turner Minnie Ola Turner, 89, of Abilene, died Thursday at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m.

'Jimmy' Templeton James Cary "Jimmy" Templeton, 41, of Abilene, formerly of Toluka Lake, died Dec. 4, 1992, at his home. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1969, attended Abilene Christian University from 1969 until 1973 and East Texas State University from 1973 majoring fine arts and music. As untudent at Abilene High, he was a member of National Honor Society, was drum major in the band and also a member of the orchestra and the first swim team.

Templeton was active in Boy Scouts of America, was an Eagle Scout, member of Order of the Arrow and chief of Kotso Lodge of the Chisholm Trail Council. He also taught swimming at Camp Tonkawa. Other memberships include Phi Mu Alpha, Directors a national and music Hillcrest fraternity, Church the of Christ. Delmer W. Brack officiating, directed by Archer Funeral Home. Mr. Ots was born in Tartu, Estonia, and moved to Baylor County in 1952. He had been a butcher and meat processor for Bayco Services until retiring.

LEWIS WELDON FRY LEWIS WELDON FRY, age 78, of Abilene, died Wednesday, January 6, 1993 at a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be at Friday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Rev.

Born January 11, 1914 at Denton, Texas, he was the son of David Holloway Fry and Beulah Kincaid Fry. A graduate of Breckenridge High School, he attended Cisco Junior College.

On July 23, 1931, he married Marion Louise Lohn at Lohn, Texas. A member of the Sea Bee's during World War II, he was stationed at Attu in the Aleutian Islands. A resident of Abilene since 1940, he operated Fry's Grocery and Market at South 14th and Willis Streets for twenty years. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church for 34 years and had been active in Boy Scouts of America for 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Louise of Abilene; a daughter, Frances Lewis of Abilene; two sons, David Fry of Lubbock and John Fry of Lake Granbury, Texas; a sister, Margaret Cleveland of San Diego, California; two brothers, David Fry of Denton and George Fry of Reno, Nevada; and eight grandchildren.

Born in San Marcos, she moved with her parents to Ballinger where she grew up and attended schools. Mrs. Behringer attended Polytechnical College in Fort Worth and majored in piano. She was a charter member and first president of the Stamford Garden Club. In 1950, she was hostess for the Texas Cowboy Reunion.

Mrs. Behringer was a member of First Baptist Church in Stamford where she served many years as Sunday school teacher and president of the Woman's Missionary Union. Her first husband, Edgar Ellis, who preceded her in death, was a cotton buyer in Texas from the Rio Grande Valley to West Texas, including Rule, until 1942 when they moved to Stamford. She and her second husband, Sam Behringer, who also preceded her in death, moved to a retirement center in Lubbock in 1979. Survivors include a nephew, William E.

He had been an active member of First Presbyterian Church and was the widower of Emma Montgomery.
